Family

Recruited from Geelong CYMS, Ted Tuohill was a tall, versatile utility who could hold down a key position or drift forward to hit the scoreboard. He showed early promise at the Pivot, notably booting 10 goals in nine games during the 1939 season, but his career at Geelong was stifled by the outbreak of the Second World War. Following a two-year hiatus from the league, Tuohill resurfaced at Carlton in 1943, where his appointment as a prison warder at Pentridge Gaol made playing for the nearby Blues a practical necessity. He managed 15 games over two wartime seasons for Carlton, providing experienced cover for a depleted list before retiring at the end of 1944.
