Bio
Arriving at Footscray with a glowing reputation as a runner-up for the J.J. Liston Trophy with Box Hill, Terry Devery was a diminutive rover who immediately found a place in the Bulldogs' senior lineup. Standing just 170cm, he was a classic crumber who played 17 games in his debut season, showing plenty of promise before injury and selection headaches stalled his momentum in 1960. After playing only the opening round of the 1961 season, he was cleared to Collingwood mid-year but never added to his VFL tally in the black and white. Devery subsequently moved north and became a giant of Queensland football, captain-coaching Morningside to a celebrated premiership in 1965 and representing the state, solidifying his status as a Panthers legend rather than just a fleeting figure in VFL history.
