Bio
Terry Ingersoll was a potent full-forward recruited from Western Suburbs in Sydney, where he had established himself as a goal-kicking machine with a century-goal season in the NSW competition. He wasted no time translating that form to the VFL, booting a club-record five goals on debut against Carlton and ending the 1957 season as Hawthorn's leading goalkicker. His impressive debut year earned him the club's Best First Year Player award, but he struggled to replicate that dominance in his second season, eventually spending time in the reserves. Ingersoll's VFL career ended prematurely when a family illness forced him to return to New South Wales after just two seasons at Glenferrie Oval.
