Bio
Hailing from the dairy country of Fish Creek in South Gippsland, Terry MacKin was a talented country footballer who earned his shot at the big time with Fitzroy in 1936. Joining a Maroon side boasting genuine legends like Hayden Bunton, Wilfred "Chicken" Smallhorn, and Doug Nicholls, MacKin held his own at the top level, playing 13 games and booting four goals in his solitary VFL campaign. Despite establishing himself as a regular in the senior side, his League career was cut short when he was required to return home to work on the family farm. MacKin subsequently became a titan of the Fish Creek Football Club, cementing his legacy as a local icon by coaching the team to six premierships during a golden era between 1946 and 1955.
