Bio
A prolific junior forward recruited from North Heidelberg, Terry Philippe arrived at Victoria Park with a reputation for heavy scoring that he initially justified by topping the club's under-19s goalkicking table. He broke into the senior lineup in 1978 but was curiously deployed as a key defender, showing glimpses of talent at centre half-back rather than in front of the sticks. His VFL career was cut short after just five games when he was transferred to West Perth in the WAFL as part of the clearance deal that brought Bill Valli to Collingwood. Philippe eventually returned to Victoria and cemented his legacy in country football, re-establishing himself as a dominant forward to kick back-to-back centuries of goals for Daylesford in the Ballarat Football League.
