Bio
Recruited from Old Scotch, Terry Waites holds a unique place in Collingwood history as a player who achieved the ultimate success almost immediately before vanishing from the VFL scene. A key position prospect who lined up at centre half-forward, he broke into the senior side midway through the 1953 season and retained his spot for the finals campaign. In a remarkable turn of events, Waites played in the 1953 Premiership victory over Geelong in just his seventh league game. He managed only five appearances the following year before his brief career concluded, leaving him with a premiership medallion from a total of just twelve senior matches.
