Bio
The son of Richmond legend Michael "Disco" Roach, Thomas Roach arrived at Punt Road with significant external pressure as a father-son recruit in the 2003 National Draft. A distinct contrast to his father’s key-position profile, Roach was a lightly built wingman and flanker who relied on high-level endurance and running capacity rather than aerial dominance. Despite showing promise at VFL level, he struggled to adapt to the physical intensity of senior football and failed to lock down a permanent role in the side during a lean era for the club. After managing just 11 games over three seasons, he was delisted at the conclusion of 2006, ultimately unable to translate his athleticism into consistent AFL output.
