Bio
Recruited from the Eastern Ranges with a formidable junior reputation, Tim Finocchiaro arrived at Geelong as the reigning Larke Medalist, having been judged the best player at the 1997 National U18 Championships. The Warrandyte local was taken with pick 61 in the national draft and immediately looked at home at senior level, breaking into the side to play six of the first eight games in his debut 1998 season. A compact and talented small midfielder, his promising start was cruelly derailed mid-year by a severe bout of glandular fever that stripped him of his fitness and momentum. Although he fought his way back to add four more senior appearances in 1999, Finocchiaro struggled to recapture his dominant junior form and was delisted after just 10 career games, leaving him as a notable "what might have been" story from the late 90s.
