Bio
A mature-age recruit hailing from the Carlton VFL side, Tim Fleming was selected by Richmond with pick 41 in the 2002 National Draft to inject immediate aggression into the Tigers' midfield. A rugged inside ball-winner and tagger, Fleming compensated for a lack of polish with a ferocious attack on the contest and a willingness to physically intimidate opponents. His distinctively hard-nosed approach saw him play every match in his debut season, earning Richmond's Best First Year Player award in 2003. Despite quickly becoming a cult figure among fans for his uncompromising style, Fleming struggled to maintain his spot as the game demanded greater speed and skill, resulting in his delisting at the conclusion of the 2004 season after a brief but intense stint at the top level.
