Bio
Recruited from Yarrawonga with pick 30 in the 1992 National Draft, Tim Hargreaves was a naturally gifted half-forward who possessed strong hands and an innate goal sense. He broke into the Hawthorn senior side in 1994, quickly establishing himself as a dangerous albeit occasionally mercurial attacking threat who could turn matches with short bursts of scoring. After three seasons at Glenferrie Oval, Hargreaves was central to a direct player swap ahead of the 1997 season that saw him move to Geelong while Aaron Lord headed to the Hawks. While he started brightly at Kardinia Park, producing a handful of match-winning performances, he was unable to maintain consistent form at the elite level and departed the AFL in 1998 to return to the Ovens and Murray league, where he subsequently built a reputation as a country football powerhouse.
