Bio
Recruited as a mature-age prospect from South Fremantle, Tim Kelly burst onto the AFL scene with Geelong in 2018, delivering one of the most impressive debut stints in modern history. An evasive and classy midfielder capable of drifting forward to hit the scoreboard, Kelly immediately established himself as an elite ball-winner, culminating in All-Australian selection and a runner-up finish in the Carji Greeves Medal during his second year. Despite his rapid ascent and on-field chemistry with the Cats' engine room, family reasons drew him back to Western Australia, leading to a high-profile trade to West Coast following the 2019 season in exchange for a significant package of draft picks.
Since arriving at the Eagles, Kelly has shouldered a heavy load in the midfield, claiming the John Worsfold Medal in 2023 during a lean period for the club. While the team's slide down the ladder limited his opportunities to play in finals compared to his time in Victoria, he remained a consistent clearance winner and a primary source of drive from the centre. Now a veteran with over 150 games of experience, Kelly serves as a senior leader in the West Coast setup, tasked with maintaining competitive standards while guiding the club's developing on-ball brigade.
