Bio
Hailing from Berrigan in the New South Wales Riverina and schooled at the famous football nursery Assumption College, Tim Powell was a versatile utility who split his time between half-forward and half-back. He established himself at Richmond in the late 1980s, where he proved a handy goal-kicker and ball-winner, notably polling maximum Brownlow votes twice during the 1990 season. After five seasons at Punt Road, he was traded to Carlton prior to the 1993 season in exchange for a draft pick. Powell made an immediate impact at his new club, forcing his way into a star-studded lineup to play on a half-forward flank in the 1993 Grand Final loss to Essendon. However, he managed just two more senior appearances the following year before departing the AFL scene.
