Bio
A mature-age recruit from the Casey Scorpions, Tim Smith was selected by Melbourne in the 2017 Rookie Draft after establishing himself as a physical presence in the VFL. Known for his aggression and contested marking, the medium-sized forward brought immediate intensity to the Demons' forward line, valuing tackling pressure and pack-crashing over high possession counts. Despite showing promise as a structural option who could create opportunities for teammates, his time at the top level was heavily restricted by physical setbacks. After managing just 13 appearances over three seasons, Smith was forced into premature retirement at the end of 2019 due to a chronic foot injury.
