Bio
Recruited from Deniliquin in the New South Wales Riverina, Todd Marshall was a talented junior cricketer who turned his focus to football late, eventually becoming the centre of a minor zoning dispute between the GWS Giants' academy and the AFL before falling to Port Adelaide in the first round of the 2016 draft. His initiation into elite football was defined by immense personal resilience, as he was forced to navigate the tragic loss of both parents early in his career while simultaneously developing his body for the rigours of key position play. After several seasons of gradual development, Marshall produced a breakout campaign in 2022, booting 45 goals and establishing himself as a calm and reliable focal point in the Power's attack.
On the field, Marshall plays as a mobile tall rather than a traditional contested beast, relying on elite extension in the air, smart leading patterns, and a technically sound set-shot routine. While he lacks the sheer bulk of some opponents, his agility allows him to work up the ground and connect the midfield to the forward line. His career momentum has been frequently interrupted by medical setbacks, most notably a string of concerning concussions in 2024 followed by a ruptured Achilles that wiped out his entire 2025 season. Now an established senior figure with a long-term contract, he enters 2026 looking to reassert his dominance in the forward half after a frustrating period on the sidelines.
