Bio
Recruited from the Celtic Football Club, Tom Carmody was a diminutive wingman and forward who operated on the fringe of the Collingwood side during the club's early powerhouse years. Standing just 173cm, the lightweight utility showed promise in his debut 1899 season where he booted three goals from limited opportunities, but he struggled to consistently break into a lineup that was rapidly developing into a premiership force. After falling out of senior selection for two full seasons, Carmody earned a solitary recall for one match early in the 1903 premiership campaign. However, he was unable to retain his spot against the depth of the eventual flag-winners, finishing his VFL career as a depth player who provided cover during a successful era for the Magpies.
