Family

The son of former Power and Kangaroos utility Stuart Cochrane, Tom Cochrane arrived at Alberton via the 2024 Rookie Draft after narrowly missing the games requirement for father-son eligibility. A product of Central District, he made history in Round 3, 2025, becoming the first known AFL footballer to play with Tourette syndrome. On the field, Cochrane displayed a combative style as a midfielder-forward with clean hands and strong stoppage craft, slotting two goals across his three senior appearances. Although his debut season was eventually curtailed, the club signalled its long-term belief in his talent by securing his signature until the end of 2027.
