Bio
Recruited as a mature-age ruckman from Claremont, Tom Derickx was selected by Richmond with pick 63 in the 2010 National Draft. Despite his athleticism and capacity to drift forward, he found opportunities limited at Punt Road, blocked largely by the presence of Ivan Maric, and managed only two senior games in three seasons. Following his delisting by the Tigers, Derickx was signed by Sydney as a delisted free agent to provide experienced depth. He played the bulk of his career football in 2014, making 12 appearances for the Swans while deputising for Mike Pyke, but struggled to maintain his spot in the senior side as the club developed younger ruck stocks. He added just one further game to his tally before retiring at the end of 2016, subsequently transitioning into a career in music and media.
