Stats
Bio
Recruited from South Broken Hill in the mining heartland of New South Wales, Tom Everuss was a reliable defender who made a brief but consistent impact at Hawthorn. Arriving at Glenferrie Oval alongside teammate Lindsay Beck for the 1926 season, he broke into the senior side in Round 2 and retained his spot for the remainder of the year, featuring in 17 consecutive matches. A durable backman who helped shore up the defence of the fledgling VFL club, his football journey was ultimately cut short by professional obligations. Everuss left the league after a single season to return to Broken Hill and resume his career as a fireman, eventually serving for two decades with the brigade in Sydney.
