Bio
Arriving at Collingwood via the Public Service football competition rather than a traditional feeder club, Tom Hammond was a mature-age recruit who made the most of his opportunities at Victoria Park. A solidly built utility standing 175cm, he broke into the side at age 24 and quickly earned the trust of the selectors, featuring in the club's finals campaigns during his brief tenure. While he managed only four goals in his 18 games, his value lay in his defensive application and physical readiness. Hammond's time at the top level was short-lived, spanning just three seasons, after which he focused on his life outside football, where he notably went on to become a police magistrate and gold warden.
