Stats
Bio
Recruited from Williamstown, Tom Hedley arrived at East Melbourne with a strong reputation and immediately adjusted to the tempo of League football as a ruckman. He made a significant impact in his debut season, performing well enough to earn selection for a representative League side against Ballarat in 1903. Despite establishing himself in the senior lineup, his tenure with the Same Olds was short-lived. After playing the first ten games of 1904, he requested a controversial mid-season clearance to North Melbourne which was initially refused by the club. He eventually departed the VFL system to continue his career in the VFA with Footscray, where he played out a significant career across two separate stints.
