Bio
Recruited from Benalla in country Victoria, Tom McEwan was a solidly built utility who came down to Punt Road during Richmond's formative years in the VFL. Joining the club in 1909, he arrived at a time when the Tigers were still struggling to establish a competitive list following their promotion from the VFA the previous year. Standing 179cm and weighing 81kg, he possessed the physical frame to compete at the top level, yet he managed only two senior appearances in the yellow and black. His brief foray into league football failed to yield any goals or a permanent position, and he remains one of the many trialists who passed quickly through the club's ranks during its difficult early era.
