Stats
Bio
Recruited from the Bentleigh and Oakleigh districts, Tom Miller was a powerfully built ruckman who added significant size to the Footscray lineup in the late 1940s. Standing 188cm and weighing over 100kg, he was a massive physical presence for the era, using his bulk to compete in ruck contests and provide a strong aerial target. Although coaches experimented with Miller as a follower resting in the forward pocket, his impact was largely felt in the contest rather than on the scoreboard. He showed promise after debuting as a teenager but struggled to command a permanent position in the senior side, eventually leaving the Western Oval after four seasons to continue his football career in the VFA with Sandringham.
