Bio
Recruited from Leopold in the Melbourne Junior Football Association, Tom Moloughney was a diminutive utility whose VFL career was defined by a unique, fragmented path across two clubs. He earned his initial call-up with Fitzroy for the opening round of the 1911 season, but unable to cement a spot in the senior side, he dropped out of the league to play for South Melbourne in the CYMS competition. Four years after his debut, Moloughney was offered a lifeline by St Kilda in 1915, returning to the elite level for a solitary match against Melbourne at the Junction Oval. His career concluded with the statistical oddity of two total games played for two different clubs over a span of five seasons, never quite bridging the gap between amateur standout and regular league footballer.
