Bio
Recruited from Brunswick in the VFA, Tom Robertson joined St Kilda at the turn of the century during one of the club's most challenging eras. Arriving at the Junction Oval in 1901, he immediately found himself in the thick of the action for a side that would claim the wooden spoon in both of his seasons. Despite the team's lack of success—the Saints failed to win a single game during his entire tenure—Robertson was a durable and reliable contributor, missing very few games across his short career. He demonstrated a capacity for finding the football in a side constantly under siege, highlighted by a prolific performance against Essendon in 1902 where he amassed 24 kicks and 7 marks. Robertson departed the VFL scene after just two seasons, a steady hand who toiled hard in a lineup that ultimately couldn't break a historic losing streak.
