Stats
Bio
Recruited from local side Barwon, Tom Sherry was a productive forward who made a sharp but brief impact at Geelong during the dead-ball era. He broke into the senior lineup in Round 5 of the 1907 season and immediately became a focal point in attack, booting 18 goals in just 13 games to finish as the club's leading goalkicker for the year. His efficiency in front of the big sticks suggested a long tenure at Corio Bay, but his VFL career was cut short by a clearance dispute the following summer. When Sherry's request to transfer to Melbourne was formally denied by the Pivotonians, he refused to play for Geelong again and instead crossed to Prahran in the VFA.
