Bio
Born in Ballarat and recruited from the prestigious football nursery of Christian Brothers College (CBC) Parade, Tom Wellington was a defensive utility who briefly featured for Melbourne in the pre-war era. He broke into the senior side during the 1912 season, joining a Redlegs outfit that was struggling to find consistency in the middle of the ladder. Wellington managed just nine games over two seasons, unable to cement a permanent position in the defensive rotation or impact the scoreboard before his VFL career concluded at the end of 1913. While his time at the elite level was fleeting, he later relocated to South Australia, where he lived until his passing in Adelaide in 1955.
