Stats
Bio
Recruited from Brighton in the VFA, Tom Wenborn was a reliable half-back who served South Melbourne across two separate stints in the early 20th century. A disciplined defender who never registered a goal in his 56-game VFL career, he focused purely on his defensive duties at the Lake Oval, shutting down opposition forwards with little fanfare. After an initial two-year tenure starting in 1900, Wenborn spent time away from the league before returning in 1904, becoming a regular fixture in a South side that contested finals series in consecutive years. Following his time in the VFL, he returned to Brighton and captained the club in the VFA, continuing his career as a respected on-field leader.
