Bio
Recruited from the South Melbourne Churches competition, Tommy Lang was a diminutive defender who represented St Kilda during the disrupted World War I era. He made his debut in 1915, but his career was almost immediately placed on hold when the club voluntarily withdrew from the VFL for the 1916 and 1917 seasons due to the conflict. Lang returned to the Junction Oval when St Kilda resumed operations in 1918, holding his spot in a side that managed to qualify for the finals. He featured in the 1918 semi-final loss to Collingwood—a rare postseason appearance for the struggling club—but ultimately failed to kick a goal across his 19 senior games before finishing his VFL career at the end of 1919.
