Bio
Recruited under the father-son rule as the son of former Saint Theo Brown, Tony Brown joined St Kilda via the 1994 National Draft. A pacy rover and small forward, he quickly adapted to the speed of senior football, utilising his agility to win possessions in traffic and link up play through the midfield. He was a consistent contributor during a competitive era for the club, famously featuring in the 1997 Grand Final side that fell short against Adelaide.
Despite accumulating significant experience at a young age, Brown's career at the elite level concluded somewhat prematurely. Following the 2000 season, he was delisted as the club initiated a major list turnover, leaving him on 108 games at just 23 years of age. He returned to local football rather than pursuing opportunities at another AFL club, leaving a legacy as a key component of the energetic St Kilda midfield group that challenged for the premiership in the late 1990s.
