Bio
Recruited from South Bendigo, Tony Bull was a tenacious rover who joined Melbourne just as the club was entering its most dominant era under Norm Smith. Facing the unenviable task of breaking into a legendary midfield rotation that included names like Stuart Spencer and Ian Ridley, Bull struggled to command a permanent spot in the senior 22, serving largely as a depth player during the Demons' rise to power. While he was unable to crack the lineup for the senior premierships of the mid-1950s, he achieved success in the lower grades, notably winning a Reserves flag in 1956. His commitment to the club extended well beyond his playing days, as he returned in 1969 to coach the Under 19s and later served as a recruiting officer, eventually earning Life Membership for a contribution to the Red and Blue that spanned nearly three decades.
