Bio
Recruited from Marcellin College, Tony Carafa boasted an impressive junior resume as a member of the school's legendary undefeated 1984 First XVIII alongside future league icons Gavin Brown and Stephen Silvagni. Standing 175cm, Carafa was a rover and small forward who broke into the Fitzroy lineup in the latter stages of the 1987 season. He provided the Lions with energy around the packs and a goal-kicking option, snagging eight majors during his brief tenure at the top level. Although his VFL career wrapped up after just two seasons and 16 games, his contribution to the game's multicultural history was acknowledged when he was listed among the initial nominees for the VFL/AFL Italian Team of the Century.
