Bio
Recruited from Claremont in the WAFL, Tony Evans was a rover who crossed the Nullarbor to join St Kilda in the mid-1980s. He found it difficult to command a regular place in the senior side at Moorabbin, serving largely as a depth midfielder during a difficult competitive era for the club. After three seasons and limited opportunities with the Saints, Evans moved to Footscray for the 1989 season, hoping to revitalise his VFL career. However, he remained on the periphery of selection at the Western Oval, adding only a handful of games to his tally before concluding his brief stint at the elite level.
