Bio
Recruited from Preston Swimmers, Tony Heath was a diminutive forward pocket who worked his way through Collingwood’s traditional development pathway in the mid-1950s. After serving an apprenticeship in the Under-19s, the 174cm attacker earned his senior promotion midway through the 1957 season on the back of prolific form in the seconds, where he ultimately topped the club's Reserves goalkicking table that year. He made his debut in a victory over fierce rivals Carlton in Round 10 and held his spot for the following week's win against Hawthorn, booting a total of two career goals. Despite his proven ability to find the major opening, Heath was unable to permanently displace the established forwards in a Magpies side destined for a Preliminary Final, leaving his VFL career as a brief but effective cameo.
