Bio
A prolific ball-winner hailing from country Victoria, Tony Kelly arrived at Collingwood via a convoluted pathway that saw him star for Kyneton and VFA club Preston before eventually landing at Victoria Park. Although he had previously lined up for Melbourne's reserves, the Demons traded his rights to the Magpies in exchange for Barry Tossol, paving the way for his senior debut against his former club in 1983. Standing at just 175cm, Kelly was a fearless rover and half-forward who possessed an uncanny knack for finding the footy, yet he struggled to cement a regular spot in the senior lineup over three seasons. After his VFL career concluded, he returned to the Bendigo Football League where he cemented his status as a Kyneton legend, winning three club best and fairest awards and eventually earning induction into the league's Hall of Fame.
