Stats
Bio
Recruited from VFA powerhouse Preston, Tony King was a rover who arrived at Hawthorn during a period of immense squad depth. Facing the formidable challenge of displacing established stars in the Hawks' premiership-contending midfield, he remained on the fringe of selection and managed only sporadic appearances across three seasons. In search of regular senior football, King crossed to St Kilda midway through the 1980 season, becoming one of the rare players to represent two clubs in the same VFL campaign. The move to Moorabbin allowed him to play with greater freedom, where he rotated through the forward pocket and booted eight goals in nine games, though his top-level career ultimately concluded at the end of that year.
