Stats
Bio
Recruited from Maryborough in country Victoria, Tony May entered the VFL system during one of North Melbourne’s most dominant eras. A tall utility standing 187cm, he managed to break into Ron Barassi’s senior side twice during the club's historic 1977 premiership campaign, though the formidable strength of the Kangaroos' list made a permanent spot difficult to secure. Seeking greater opportunity the following year, May was involved in a direct player swap for Daryl Cumming, crossing to Melbourne for the 1978 season. Despite the Demons enduring a horror wooden spoon campaign, May struggled to cement a place in the struggling lineup, adding just two games and a solitary goal to his career tally before departing the league prior to the 1979 season.
