Bio
Recruited from Deloraine in Tasmania, Trent Bartlett was a sturdy key position prospect taken by the Brisbane Bears with pick 45 in the 1993 National Draft. He initially cut his teeth as a centre half-back, but his time in Queensland was heavily impacted by a severe ankle injury that forced him to miss the entire 1997 season, leaving him on the fringes as the newly formed Lions began their ascent to power. In search of regular senior football, Bartlett was traded to the Western Bulldogs following the 1999 season, where he enjoyed the best form of his career in 2000 as a strong-marking forward and relief ruckman. Despite establishing himself as a valuable structural asset for the Dogs, chronic knee issues—specifically patella tendonitis—curtailed his output over the next two years, leading to his delisting at the end of 2002. He subsequently returned home to become a dominant figure for the Tasmanian Devils in the VFL, cementing his legacy as a titan of Tasmanian state league football.
