Bio
Selected by Adelaide with pick 5 in the 2000 National Draft from Woodville-West Torrens, Trent Hentschel began his career as a versatile swingman before cementing his spot as a classy key forward. Known for his strong marking hands, smooth movement, and accuracy in front of goal, he appeared on the verge of stardom during a breakout 2006 campaign where he became the focal point of the Crows' attack. However, his trajectory was shattered late that season by a horrific knee injury against Port Adelaide involving severe structural damage, forcing him to miss the entirety of the 2007 and 2008 seasons. Although he demonstrated remarkable resilience to return to senior football in 2009, the lasting physical toll restricted his output, and he retired in 2010 as a talented player denied his prime years by misfortune.
