Bio
A teenage sensation with North Hobart in the TANFL, Trevor Best was a skilful rover and centreman whose arrival at Carlton was delayed by a drawn-out clearance dispute that spanned three seasons. He finally joined the Blues midway through 1963, bringing a reputation for toughness, clean hands, and a piercing drop kick. Donning the famous number 6 guernsey, Best played 21 games over two seasons, often rotating through the forward pocket or interchange in a Carlton side enduring a lean era. Despite his potential, his VFL career was cut short when he requested a clearance back to Tasmania at the end of 1964 to support his young family, eventually entering the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame and becoming a key figure in the establishment of Superules football in his home state.
