Stats
Bio
Recruited from Rupanyup in the Wimmera League, Trevor Tyler was a versatile defender and ruck-rover who joined Essendon after impressing in country representative football. Despite arriving at Windy Hill with a strong reputation, he found it difficult to cement a permanent spot in the senior lineup, playing just a dozen games across four seasons. He was, however, a dominant figure in the reserves, finishing runner-up in the seconds' best and fairest and being named their best finals player in 1975. Unable to translate that form into a regular senior berth, he eventually departed the VFL system to play suburban football for Bayswater and Boronia.
