Bio
A persistent utility who took the long road to senior football, Tristan Lynch began as a Collingwood draftee and Richmond reserves grinder before finding his feet interstate. Recruited to the Brisbane Bears by John Northey in the 1996 pre-season draft, he made an immediate impact as a disciplined tagger and defender, featuring in the club's historic 1996 Preliminary Final campaign. He remained a regular contributor during the early days of the Brisbane Lions merger but was traded to Geelong following the 1998 season in a deal involving Martin McKinnon. Lynch spent two seasons at Kardinia Park adding depth to the Cats' backline but struggled to cement a permanent spot in the senior side, eventually finishing his AFL career to coach at local level in the Geelong region.
