Bio
Recruited from Queanbeyan in the ACT, Troy Gray was a versatile utility capable of playing key roles in defence or attack. He burst onto the scene at the Sydney Swans with a four-goal haul in just his third senior match, eventually settling into a role as an athletic running defender during his most consistent season in 1995. However, injury struck at the wrong time, forcing him to miss Sydney's historic 1996 Grand Final charge before he was traded to St Kilda at the season's end. Gray made a blistering start for the Saints with a standout performance in the opening round of 1997, gathering 22 disposals and kicking two goals against Hawthorn, but fitness issues and form struggles limited him to just nine games for the club. Since hanging up the boots, he has established a successful career in the media as a television producer and presenter.
