Bio
A diminutive rover standing just 164cm, Vern Moore first built a football reputation playing for army teams in France during World War I before making a belated VFL debut at age 27. Recruited from VFA side Prahran, he joined Melbourne in 1922 and showed promise as a goal-kicking small, but his time at the club was marred by a severe disciplinary setback in 1923 when he was suspended for the remainder of the season for kicking an opponent. Moore struggled to recapture his standing in the senior side following the ban and eventually crossed to Richmond midway through the 1925 season, managing just four appearances for the Tigers before leaving the VFL to captain-coach Murrumbeena.
