Bio
Recruited from Clifton Hill YCW, Vic Donald was a versatile follower and centre half-forward who forced his way into the Collingwood lineup late in the 1948 season. He made his debut in Round 18 and retained his place for the finals series, but his maiden campaign ended in heartbreak when an injury sustained in the First Semi-Final ruled him out of the Magpies' Preliminary Final loss. His time at Victoria Park was ultimately cut short by further misfortune, as a fractured cheekbone in a 1950 practice match prompted a move to the VFA with Preston. Donald later found success in regional Victoria, captain-coaching Bogong to a premiership in the Ovens & King Football League and finishing his playing days with Wangaratta.
