Bio
A journeyman follower whose career was ultimately defined by the Great War, Vic Gordon managed to represent three different clubs in just 19 games. Originally from Hawthorn in the VFA, he made a brief appearance for St Kilda in 1911 before dropping out of the VFL system for two years. Gordon resurfaced at Melbourne in 1914, playing the majority of his senior football as a ruckman and forward, but crossed to Carlton the following season for a solitary match. His football journey was abruptly cut short just three weeks after his Blues debut when he enlisted for military service; he was subsequently shot in the leg in France in 1916, an injury that ended his sporting career despite his safe return to Australia in 1919.
