Bio
A product of the local Carlton District junior system, Vic Truman was a diminutive footballer who had to wait nearly six years between his first and second VFL seasons. After managing a solitary senior appearance for the Blues in 1920, Truman spent the prime of his footballing life in the VFA, where his form for Williamstown eventually caught the eye of Fitzroy recruiters. He was handed a second lifeline at the top level in 1926, playing 10 games for the Maroons as a rover and small forward. Though his VFL career was brief and bookended by long absences, Truman's ability to force his way back into the league after such a significant hiatus demonstrated a persistence that defined his short tenure in the big time.
