Bio
Recruited from the Oakleigh Chargers with pick 44 in the 2010 National Draft, Viv Michie began his AFL career at Fremantle, where his development was severely stalled by persistent stress fractures in his right foot. Restricted to just one senior game in three seasons in the west, he requested a trade to Melbourne ahead of the 2014 season in search of greater opportunities. A composed ball-winner capable of playing through the midfield or across half-back, Michie demonstrated an ability to find space and distribute effectively but found it difficult to cement a permanent spot in the Demons' lineup. He was delisted and re-rookied for the 2016 season, yet despite consistent form at VFL level for the Casey Scorpions, he was unable to break into the senior side regularly and was permanently delisted at the conclusion of that year.
