Stats
Bio
Hailing from the country town of Yarck and recruited via Thornton, Robert Fox was a promising key forward who made an immediate impact at Windy Hill. Standing 189cm, he established himself as a talented centre half-forward, evidenced by his winning the club's Best First Year Player award in 1955. He became a fixture in the Bombers' lineup over three seasons, culminating in an appearance at centre half-forward during the 1957 Grand Final loss to Melbourne. Despite his on-field promise and established place in the side, Fox struggled to adjust to the rigours of city life and opted to retire from VFL football prematurely, returning to the bush to play for Alexandra in 1958.
