Bio
A mature-age recruit hailing from Queenscliff, Wally Edward had to wait until he was 27 to earn his opportunity at the senior level. He was elevated from the Essendon Association (VFA) side late in the 1926 season, brought in to provide a fresh option as the Bombers played out the final month of a middling campaign. Edward managed four consecutive appearances to close out the year but was unable to cement a permanent spot on the list, failing to register a goal during his brief trial. His VFL career ended as quickly as it began, and he transferred to Black Rock in the suburban leagues shortly after his solitary stint at Windy Hill.
