Bio
Recruited from the industrial ranks of the Yarraville Sugarworks, Wally Glenister was a mid-sized forward who played a brief cameo for Footscray in the late 1930s. Standing 180cm, he presented as a versatile marking target inside 50, demonstrating an ability to hit the scoreboard by averaging nearly a goal a game during his short tenure. He broke into the senior lineup late in the 1937 season and added a further six games the following year, including a decent run of form where he featured in victories against Fitzroy and North Melbourne. Despite showing early promise as a goal-kicking option, Glenister was unable to consolidate a permanent spot in the side and drifted out of League football after the 1938 season at just 20 years of age.
